Milen Epik
Division President
Milen Epik has 18 years of experience working with global Fortune 500 companies in linguistic technologies, globalization, software development, training, internationalization consulting, account management, and sales support. Before founding Epik Solutions (now Epic Global Solutions) and joining Translations.com, she served as the VP of Professional Services & Customer Support at GlobalSight/Transware, bearing the responsibility for all customer-side deployments. Epik has a wealth of experience in building consulting and technical services businesses from scratch; first with the creation of ILE's Internationalization Consulting business (now part of Lionbridge), and again in 1999 with GlobalSight's services arm, which she grew to a global 24/7 operation with support teams in the US, Europe, and Asia. From 1988 to 1997, Epik worked at Xerox-PARC and its subsidiaries as a software developer for multilingual products and natural language technologies. She studied Informatics at Bogaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey, and holds an MS in Computer Science from Southern Illinois University, with a concentration in Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing (NLP). She is fluent in English, French, and Turkish.

Phil Shawe, Co-founder of TransPerfect, is President and CEO of Translations.com, a company focusing exclusively on the globalization of websites, software, and other multilingual digital solutions. From 1992 until 1999, Shawe co-managed the day-to-day operations of TransPerfect and orchestrated its growth from a single office start-up to an industry leader, operating from over 30 locations on 3 continents.
Shawe received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2001. Prior to his career in the language services business, he was a Financial Analyst at Chemical Bank and a Global Custody Consultant at Merrill Lynch. Shawe holds an MBA in Finance and International Business from New York University's Stern School of Business. He received his BS from the University of Florida where he triple majored in Finance, Marketing, and Risk Management.

Elting is an active member of Young Presidents' Organization (YPO). Elting lectures frequently at New York University's Stern School of Business, Columbia Business School, and to NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners). Elting received an MBA in Finance and International Business from New York University's Stern School of Business and a BA in Modern Languages and Literatures from Trinity College.
Bill Franklin
VP of Software Engineering
As the VP of Software Engineering, Bill Franklin is responsible for Software Engineering, Product Management, Product Development, and Quality Assurance/Software Testing activities. Franklin has over 20 years of senior operations and software engineering management experience and 12 years of experience in the translation/internationalization industry. Prior to joining EGS, Franklin served as the VP of Engineering Operations at GlobalSight/Transware, since the founding of GlobalSight. His areas of expertise include software engineering (with focus on localization products), software internationalization, project management, quality assurance and software testing, and Internet technology and web production.
Conny Hayes
Principal Solution Architect
Conny Hayes has a BA in Linguistics and an MBA in Global Management from the New York Institute of Technology. She has 18 years of experience in the localization industry, having worked for companies such as International Language Engineering, International Communications, and Lionbridge prior to joining Epic Global Solutions. Hayes has hands-on experience with most roles in localization—from translator and project manager to account director—including several years as a founder and partner in a London-based translation agency. Most recently, she was the global program manager and account director responsible for all content development, localization, and software & hardware testing activities for a multi-million dollar global account.
