Challenge
Our client, a well-known consumer products company, was looking for a strong and committed partner for a large and complex localization project. The project entailed translating almost 100,000 words of screening test questions for internal management positions into more than 40 languages. Because of the nature of the content, a number of strict process and quality steps—including multiple independent and client reviews and back translations—needed to be managed. The overall number of project participants was well over 250 individuals. During the project's planning phase, it quickly became apparent that the required process steps and team communication would be impossible to manage manually, and that a customized technology solution was the only feasible approach.
Technology Solution
Epic Global Solutions developed a web-based application specifically for this demanding project. The application allowed the project team to complete all of the required process steps online and provided an interactive environment for team members to submit and resolve queries and review comments in real-time. All deliverables were automatically exported from the web-based application in the formats specified by the client. Electronic signatures facilitated the approval of final translations. Thanks to the custom tool developed by EGS, our client was able to save over $100,000 in project management and other fees.
